Parr Foods is based on the belief that “Less is more”. Less ingredients more flavor. The ingredient lists are short and without preservatives or artificial ingredients. Each barr is handmade in Boone, NC with the intention of Keeping YOU Movin’. Whether as an energy barr during high endurance activities or as a meal replacement during a busy life, Boone Barrs will Sustain you!
My name is Jay Parr and I started making energy bars after graduating from Le Cordon Bleu, School of Culinary Arts in 2004. With my experience in the kitchen and my love of the outdoors, the creation of the Boone Barr was inevitable. In 2008, I went back to school to study entrepreneurship and sustainable development at Appalachian State University. With enough encouragement from friends and family (especially my parents and Uncle Mark), I finally decided to give selling them a try. After a short conversation with a local coffee shop owner, the Boone Barr was put in its first retail location. Since then we have grown from a home kitchen to a sustainable production facility, which we could not have done without our loyal customers. Thank you, by the way :)!

We source only the best organic and natural ingredients from the most local sources possible. We love making foods that people can feel good about eating and will come back for!
